By Road: Whatstandwell is just off the A6 between Belper and Matlock. Main Road is the B5035. Coming from the A6 Vine Cottage is on the right approximately 100m after you’ve crossed the bridge over the Cromford Canal. Parking is on the road.

By Rail: Whatstandwell is on the branch line from Derby to Matlock. The safest route to walk is to use the footbridge over the Cromford Canal and then turn left when you reach Main Road.

By Bus: The TP2 from Derby to Matlock stops by the Railway station or the junction of the A6 with B5035. It is then a short walk to Vine Cottage.
